When I think Italian in Greensboro I think Anton’s! I grew up coming to Anton’s with my mom and dad on special occasions and always enjoyed eating downstairs in the cellar. Today the cellar is open for private parties or large parties of 25 or more, but upstairs Anton’s still serves authentic Italian dishes that taste great!
We enjoyed our garden salads: lettuce, cucumber, and a bit of purple cabbage; Max enjoyed Ranch dressing and I thought the homemade Italian was a good combination of herbs. Max had the Spaghetti and Meatballs while I enjoyed the Chicken Parmesan. The portions were huge (we agreed to split a dish on our next visit). Max enjoyed the hearty meatballs with a rich meat sauce. This has been a traditional favorite. The chicken was boneless breast meat covered with marinara sauce and melted mozzarella cheese. Both dishes were a great value.
We splurged. We split a dessert! The waitress called it Chocolate Gateaux. A flourless chocolate cake, three layers of chocolate flavors. It was extremely rich, but yummy!
